UCS participating in U.S. Agency for International Development vendor outreach event

With outposts across the globe, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) leads the U.S. Government’s international emergency and humanitarian assistance initiatives, spearheading our nation’s efforts to save lives, alleviate human suffering, and reduce the social and economic impact of natural and man-made disasters. Currently, USAID supports nearly 300 projects worldwide, focusing on a range of development issues including: agriculture and food security; democracy and human rights; economic growth; education; global climate change; gender equality; global health; science, technology, and innovation; and water and sanitation.

In support of this mission, USAID is inviting fifty Women-owned Small Businesses (WOSBs) to participate in a vendor outreach session in Washington, DC on February 27, 2013. This year, UCS joins the list of WOSB vendors who will attend the session to discuss processes and procedures unique to USAID contracting, and to identify new contracting opportunities with the Agency. The session will also feature presentations from large and small businesses currently supporting USAID’s mission and relief efforts, both at home and abroad.

UCS is honored to join and participate in this dialogue, and looks forward to partnering with USAID to develop the solutions that meet today’s needs with tomorrow in mind.
