For over 70 years, the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific (SSC Pacific) has provided Navy, Joint, and Coalition warfighters with cutting-edge research and development; today, it is the Navy’s leading center for research, development, delivery, and support of integrated command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4ISR) support. Because of its historic role as the Navy’s foremost information systems provider, the Navy selected SPAWAR to lead the Navy’s data center consolidation efforts. As a result, SPAWAR created the Navy’s Enterprise Data Center (NEDC), with locations in San Diego, Charleston, and New Orleans.
This month, SSC Pacific selected UCS to provide the NEDC in San Diego with engineering, operations, project management, facilities maintenance, and 24×7 technical help desk support services. Our team’s support for the NEDC will help the SSC Pacific team maintain their Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) and Shared Services Environment (SSE) production hosting environments – ultimately empowering SSC Pacific’s diverse workforce of scientists, engineers, support personnel, Fleet operators, and active duty service members to continue pioneering advanced technology solutions that equip and protect the U.S. Navy.
“This win expands UCS’s IT data center operations footprint, engaging us with a key customer within the Navy and creating a way for us to provide quality IT support across their wide customer base,” Sachin Chandra, UCS’s VP of Technology and Business Solutions said. “We get to build upon the qualifications we have already established supporting data center hosting operations for various DoD customers. We are thrilled to be selected, and look forward to delivering on this engagement!”
